Reconnect with Cromwell and COCA

On the 27th of August COCA and the Cromwell College foundation invited all Old Cromwellians to Reconnect with Cromwell at the University of Queensland's Customs House in Brisbane City.

With over 60 years of proud history, it was a pleasure for COCA to host Cromwellians from all vintages, ranging from the 1960's to 2015. Intergenerational stories were shared and College traditions compared, giving some nice insight into the history of Cromwell as seen through the eyes of others.

So with all the success of the evening, what comes next for COCA and its Cromwellians?

COCA is in the infancy of its new life, therefore rebuilding relationships and when ever possible adding to the network of Cromwellians by providing opportunities for reunion and to reconnect, will be key to the growth and development of COCA. In the immediate future, there are formal dinners and industry breakfasts planned, where alumni can engage with current students and revisit their old home.

As announced on the evening, COCA will be hosting a biennial ball in 2016 (Date TBA), as well as other networking and social functions over the coming months and year. Be that as it may, COCA has a greater purpose, and that is to act as a conduit between Cromwellians, old and new, to provide a medium through which professional mentoring and networking may occur.

Therefore to build on the success of the Reconnect with Cromwell networking event and for COCA to continue to evolve, the help of its alumni is needed in order to Reconnect with all Old Cromwellians. So if you were there on the evening, or even if you weren't, and want to make sure you are there for the next one, make sure you update your contact details via the following link: http://www.cromwell.uq.edu.au/update-my-details and connect with COCA through Facebook and LinkedIn.

On the evening, an announcement was also made that COCA is now in the process of incorporating and that an SGM will be held in the coming months (Date TBA) so that council members can be elected. If there is anyone who wishes to become involved in COCA, in whatever format that may be, please contact Daniel via email on coca@cromwell.uq.edu.au.
