At Cromwell, great value is placed on a healthy academic environment focused on maintaining the highest quality student life and campus living. Through the Students' Association, leadership, sport and the cultural and social life of the students is promoted. Principal, Rev Dr Hugh Begbie explains, “It is a wonderful way to begin life at University with the result that most residents of the College do well both academically and socially.” Read testimonials from past students. The college receives funding purely through fees and the generosity of the community, by bequests and donations. Students are encouraged to apply for scholarships through The University of Queensland and there are funds and bursaries for urgent financial support a student may need in times of crisis. As well as the high quality self-catered accommodation for students , there are music practice rooms, a dining room, a tennis court and common room with full sized billiard table. Read the College facilities page for further information. The Chapel is also available as a peaceful retreat for prayer, reflection, music practice or debate. Cromwell is also proud to offer accommodation for staff, senior and international students at Campus Lodge and guest accommodation for visiting Professors, postgraduate students or holiday makers to stay on a budget. There are a variety of conference facilities and the College caters for individual meals, special events and weddings, always providing high quality nutritious meals for all tastes and requirements. All are welcome at Cromwell College and this includes past students. The Cromwell Old Collegians Association (COCA) and the Cromwell College Foundation work to keep in touch with past students and promote and advance the interests of the College in all its activities.
