The College's Mission Statement The mission of Cromwell College is to provide a vibrant community for students in a caring Christian environment that enables them to grow in knowledge and character and willingness to serve. The Board of Governors The College is governed by an honorary Board of Governors of which the Principal is an ex-officio member. The Board is the legal entity that constitutes the College and it is responsible for monitoring the College and assuring that it carries out its constitutional responsibilities, for setting policy, appointing and reviewing the Principal, and approving the budget and major expenditure. Seven Governors are elected by the Synod of the Uniting Church , seven by the Board, two by graduates of the College, two by the Cromwell College Students' Association and one Governor is appointed by the Senate of the University. Three Life Governors maintain a continuing interest in the College. The Principal The Principal is responsible to the Board for the overall running of the College and for its relationships with the University and other institutions. In particular, the Principal attends to the pastoral care and wellbeing of the students, to the interviewing, admission and exclusion of students, and to Chapel, cultural, tutorial and other educational matters.
