The Cromwell Old Collegians' Association was officially formed at the inaugural meeting on the 29 th October 1976. COCA strives to • stay connected with Old Collegians and Friends of Cromwell • inform Old Collegians and Friends of Cromwell about accomplishments, endeavours and whereabouts of other Old Collegians and Friends of Cromwell through COCA News • establish good fellowship between Old Collegians and Friends of Cromwell and between Old Collegians, Friends of Cromwell and current residents • support active involvement through mentoring and volunteer opportunities • promote and advance the interests of the College in all its activities. In achieving these objectives, COCA provides a vital link in the fabric of the College family that is essential to the future development and strength of the College. As a former Cromwell resident, you are automatically a member of COCA. Membership is free but Cromwell would appreciate your support. As COCA Member you can help by• Updating your contact details when they change to ensure that you receive the COCA NEWS and invitations to upcoming events. This also allows us to help Old Collegians to reconnect with you. • Updating us on how you are going and what you are up to (career, family, travel, special achievements etc.) • Assisting us to find Old Collegians with whom we have lost contact • Volunteering to be a representative for Old Collegians from your year to advise the Development Manager of ideas for possible COCA events that suit the needs of Collegians from your era; networking, and advertising upcoming events through your contacts with Old Collegians and, if you wish, help to organise events. • Mentoring current students • Writing articles for the COCA News • Assisting with the organisation of COCA or fundraising events • Supporting the College by making a donation or leaving a bequest to the Cromwell College Foundation. for more information. A fine example occurred in 2004 when we celebrated 50 years of residential life and the College held a Dinner Dance and a Thanksgiving Service on the 5th and 6th June. to register your interest or discuss areas of support. Mentoring What better way for a student to learn about a particular career than to hear directly from someone working in that field? A register has been compiled of interested Old Collegians who would like to share their 'real life' work experiences, skills and knowledge with current residents. Guest Speakers at COCA dinners and special functions contribute significantly to an entertaining, informative and interesting event. The opportunity exists for any persons, not only Old Collegians but people who you know are notable speakers, to take part in having their say. Topics can be as varied as life experiences, careers, current affairs, and time spent at college.
