Formal Dinner 12 May

On Tuesday 12 May Cromwell was delighted to have Mrs Trish Munn speaking at our Formal Dinner. Trish has presented social media safety sessions and workshops in schools and community care organisations for a number of years through her business – Eyes Open Social Media.  She took the time out of her busy schedule to deliver a very informative and topical talk to Cromwell students on their digital footprints.  Her message focused on student employability following the completion of their studies. It has become common for employers to look closely at information present through social media sources, such as Facebook, to make assessments regarding a future employee’s suitability for interview based on what images are presented in photos and text.  She encouraged students to think closely about “the brand” that they were presenting on social media sites , the importance of using social media to promote all the good things about personal achievements and to be careful with the settings they use on sites to prevent unwanted viewers.
