Cromwell students recognised for outstanding academic achievement

Recently, Natalia Frick, Lucy Ribbe Kelso and  Joelle Cullen had the privilege of attending the 2018 Queensland Department of Education Scholarship and Grants Awards Ceremony at Custom’s House. This was an amazing experience for them as they were selected to attend out of hundreds of schools and thousands of applicants across the state. One of the four awards presented at the event was the TJ Ryan Award.

Named after Thomas Joseph Ryan, a former barrister and Queensland Prime Minister (from 1915-1919), the scholarships and certificates are awarded annually in his honour to "recognise students who demonstrate a strong commitment to high academic achievement and outstanding leadership in both their school and local community”.

Joelle Cullen was awarded one of ten TJ Ryan Memorial Medal and Scholarships, alongside Lucy Ribbe Kelso and Natalia Frick, who each received one of twenty TJ Ryan Certificates of Merit. They are all thankful for being granted this opportunity and  proud to have represented their schools, regions and Cromwell College at the event.
